New Notification of Concern Form and Team Around the Child Guidance LAUNCH DATE MONDAY 1.12.25
As a result of Quality Assurance and Improvement work, the Forth Valley GIRFEC Working Group have reviewed and updated the form used to share a concern about a child or young person. Following a test of change, this has resulted in the launch of the new Notification of Concern Form (see attached). This new form will replace the Forms 2a and 2b as of 1.12.25.
The intention of this change is to make it simpler to share concerns regarding a child or young person and to ensure that sufficient information is provided to determine next steps. All practitioners are asked to phone social work first to discuss a concern.
We have also developed new practice guidance to assist in the roll out of the Notification of Concern form (attached). As on 1.12.25, the new form will be available here:
https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/glowblogs/fvpp/child-protection/reporting-a-child-protection-concern/
Where a named person is seeking support from social work due to an accumulation of concerns or increase in risks, or because of a decision made at a Team Around the Child meeting, they may be asked to complete a Wellbeing Assessment (attached) to ensure that the information shared is as full as possible. Forth New Team around the Child Guidance has also been developed (attached), which we hope that you find helpful and would encourage you to refer to.
https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/glowblogs/fvpp/girfec-in-falkirk-info/girfec-res-paperwork/#:~:text=Forth%20Valley%20TAC%20Guidance
Please ensure that the new notification of concern form and guidance are circulated widely across your agency for use from Monday 1.12.25.
Each local Authority has a section in the GIRFEC area of the Forth Valley Practitioner pages. All relevant information and paperwork is maintained here: https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/glowblogs/fvpp/
Business in the Community - Wellbeing Support Programme
Business in the Community is currently scooping a new wellbeing programme, supported by one of our member organisations that provides a broad range of healthcare solutions. The aim is to design a series of online sessions and peer learning workshops to help SMEs and VCSE organisations strengthen employee wellbeing and resilience.
Before we finalise the programme, we want to hear directly from employers like you. Your insight will help ensure what we offer truly reflects the needs and realities of employers today.
To ensure the programme is shaped by real experience, we're inviting organisations to share their insights through a short survey (around 10 minutes):

Stirling Council - Frontline Worker Meeting
We would like to invite you to our final Frontline Worker meeting of 2025, which will be a full network meeting running from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday 4th of December at the Mayfield Centre. There wll be table space available for you to share leaflets and network with other practitioners. We're keen to gather details about your work so we can share them with the wider network.
We'd also love for you to bring ideas about how we can shape the three large network meetings planned for next year, as we're changing the format to make them bigger and more impactful.
For example:
What training would help you in your work?
What support could we offer that would make a difference?
Come along for a cup of tea, a mince pie, and a chat about how we can shape the network!
Front Line Workers Network 2026
Looking ahead, we're changing the format in 2026 to three in-person themed meetings where we can learn from each other, explore how to link and refer across services, and develop our skills through training. The three themes will be:
Understanding Difference
Health in the Community
Finding Your Voice
If you'd like to attend these meetings, have a stall, deliver training or an information session, please take a few minutes to complete this quick form which includes dates and venues Frontline Workers Network – Fill in form
Forth Electrical Service - Free Office Furniture Available
Office chairs - we'll have several wheeled office chairs. They're all FES red.
Desk dividers - we've several 13 inch tall desk dividers. Red fabric covered.
Office dividers - we have about 10 x 180cm tall by 160cm wide dividers. Also red fabric covered. Some of these are quite faded but I thought they might be good for art displays or something along those lines where the fading won't matter.
There will be some desk drawers and then a couple of tables too.
We'd be looking for these to be rehomed week beginning 15th December.

Inspiring Scotland - Improving Access Fund
£1.5 Million Available to Support Disabled People-Led Activity in Scotland
Not-for-profit organisations in Scotland that currently deliver disabled people-led activity can apply for support through the Improving Access Fund. The funding, provided by the Scottish Government and administered by Inspiring Scotland, supports the delivery of the Scottish Government's Disability Equality Plan.
The Fund aims to advance equality for disabled people by funding peer-led initiatives that follow the social model of disability. It seeks to strengthen financial support for disabled households, promote inclusion and improve mental health outcomes. A total of £1.5 million is available through the fund. Incorporated groups can apply for up to £80,000, while unincorporated volunteer-led groups can seek up to £5,000.
Applications will be prioritised from organisations supporting disabled people in rural or island communities, those representing marginalised disabled people facing multiple barriers and Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) run and controlled by disabled people.
Eligible applicants include:
Constituted community groups.
Trusts.
Companies Limited by Guarantee.
Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisations (SCIOs).
Community Benefit Societies.
Co-operative Societies.
Community Interest Companies (CICs) with an asset lock and a strong board or advisory group with relevant expertise
Funding will support revenue costs for existing activity that extends reach, increases participation or strengthens delivery and may cover small capital costs to improve accessibility or digital inclusion.
The deadline for applications is 19 January 2026 (noon).
Improving Access Fund - Inspiring Scotland
Trust in Government Engagement Sessions
Scottish Community Development Centre, on behalf of Scottish Government, are running a series of facilitated sessions where people will have a chance to reflect on what trust means to them, how that relates to positive and negative experiences with government - as well as what needs to happen to build trust in the engagement process.
The responses from these sessions will directly inform Scottish Government actions through the Open Government Action Plan 2026 to 2030. The Action Plan is a way for civil society and government to work together on agreed priorities, and builds on the work of previous action plans.
Groups can undertake self-facilitated discussions, supported by a facilitation guide, and equalities and lived and living experience organisations can apply for a £250 stipend to support discussions with their members (limited places).
Full information can be found here: Open Government — Scottish Co-production Network
We'd ask if you would please pass information about these opportunities to the groups you work with so as many people as possible are able to have their views shared.

Forth Valley 16 Days of Activism
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign that runs annually from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day). It aims to raise awareness, challenge attitudes, and inspire action to end violence against women and girls, as well as all forms of gender-based violence. The campaign highlights that living free from violence is a human right, and encourages communities, organisations, and individuals to stand together, learn, and take meaningful steps toward creating safer, more equal societies.
This programme has been developed collaboratively by the 16 days of Activism Forth Valley Planning Group, which brings together organisations from across Stirling, Falkirk, and Clackmannanshire. By working as a united Forth Valley partnership, we aim to amplify our message and ensure that communities across the region have access to events and resources. This joint approach reflects our shared commitment to ending gender-based violence and promoting equality and safety for everyone.
This year's launch event will take place on Tuesday 25 November at Forth Valley College, Falkirk Campus, from 11:00am to 2:30pm. All events are free and open to everyone in the community, and we'd love to see you there.

Service design in Employability - Third Sector Survey
I am reaching out once again to gather your valued input.
As many of you will be aware Scottish Government and The No One Left Behind Strategic Plan 2024-27 commit to 'working with partners to ensure that services are co-designed with people with lived experience to maximise impact and uptake'.
A multi-perspectival Service Design in Employability Working Group has been collaborating over the past year to support this action and help grow implementation of meaningful and quality service design, in line with the Scottish Approach to Service Design (SAtSD) in the planning, commissioning and delivery of NOLB and associated employability services across Scotland.
The Working Group are seeking to understand current Service Design activity among employability providers in Scotland. This includes the level of understanding around Service Design, positive work already underway, any challenges faced by organisations in implementing or increasing their service design activity; and crucially what support might be helpful to grow SAtSD in the sector going forward.

Family Wellbeing Team - Vacancy
The Family Wellbeing Team are recruiting an additional Family Wellbeing Worker to join the team. This is a full time post funded, at the moment, until March 2027.
The Family Wellbeing Team offers families access to holistic support that is wrapped around their individual needs - supporting families at an early stage of intervention, as well as at times of crises. This support is allowing families to build resilience and coping strategies with the aim that they do not need to receive support from statutory services. This team is working on transforming the delivery of family support, shifting towards preventative intervention, and in future reducing the need for crisis intervention.
We're looking for an additional Family Wellbeing Worker to join this team as we are changing how we deliver support to families who are at the cusp of coping.
This is an exciting and varied role which will see a range of tasking to support whole families to be successful in meeting their needs. These individuals will be skilled at working alongside families in building on existing strengths and in helping families identify and address areas of challenge. In addition to practical tasking, including direct home care tasks, this role will also be about maximising future family potential and maintaining children safely at home in their family.
We are looking for individuals who can partner sensitively with families and are able to build meaningful relationships with families and other professionals to achieve better outcomes for children.

The Heart of Safety: Starting Your Trauma-Informed Journey,
I am delighted to invite you to The Heart of Safety: Starting Your Trauma-Informed Journey, a two-hour live online workshop that I will personally facilitate as the founder of HSTAR Scotland and a trauma-informed coach.
Date: Wednesday 22 October 2025
Time: 2 hours (live on Microsoft Teams)
Booking: Limited spaces - please register in advance
This practical and reflective session will introduce you to the foundations of trauma-informed practice.
Together we will explore:
what psychological trauma is and how it affects people, trust and services
the five key principles of trauma-informed practice
common misconceptions to avoid, such as "trauma-informed means pleasing everyone"
simple ways to reduce re-traumatisation and build psychological safety in everyday settings
You do not need a therapy background - this approach is valuable for anyone with people in any sector.
As someone who founded HSTAR Scotland to support women healing from trauma and abuse, i believe that trauma-informed principles can transform not only services but also everyday interactions. It would mean to share these tools with you and explore how they can strengthen the work you do.
I would be so pleased if you could join me. Reserve your place and take the first step in embedding trauma-informed principles in your work.

Be the Voice That Makes a Healthier and Brighter Future for Women
At HSTAR Scotland we are passionate about making trauma and abuse recovery possible, effective and long lasting. Over the past five years we have walked alongside more than four thousand women, helping them to be heard, healed and empowered. Each story is unique, and every women's journey matters to us.
Our trustees play a vital role in shaping this work. They guide strategy, safeguard our values and help us reach more survivors who need compassionate, trauma-informed support.
We are now inviting new trustees to join our board. There are six vacancies across the Central Belt with a main focus on Forth Valley, including two places for women with lived experience of trauma. We welcome people from all walks of life and aim for a board that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
Skills that would be especially helpful include finance, management (ideally with NHS experience), therapy or counselling, and human resources. By sharing your expertise you can help more women move from survival to strength and ensure that HSTAR remains a safe and hopeful place for years to come.
Applicants will be invited to interview and if successful, will be co-opted onto the board. Up to three trustees can be co-opted before the AGM. All trustees, including those co-opted, will step down at the AGM and be eligible for re-election.

Holyrood Insights' The Future of Apprenticeships Scotland Conference is taking place Tuesday 25 November 2025
The Tertiary Education and Training (Funding and Governance) (Scotland) Bill offers a timely opportunity to reshape the apprenticeship system. You will hear directly from Graeme Dey MSP, Minister for Higher and Further Education on the latest priorities for apprenticeships policy, funding and governance in Scotland.
The Scottish Government recently confirmed more than £100 million funding for 25,500 new Modern Apprentices and 2,500 Foundation Apprentices. We will discuss the next steps for delivering these opportunities, including boosting uptake across the country and how to develop an attractive apprenticeship offer.
Deep rooted stereotyping and stigma still exists around apprenticeships. Our expert speakers will discuss practical ways to raise awareness of apprenticeships, create accessible pathways, and build "parity of esteem" to ensure apprenticeships are valued equally alongside traditional academic routes like university degrees.
Following the recent Commission on Race in Apprenticeships, we will spotlight how to improve ethnic minority participation in Foundation, Modern, and Graduate Apprenticeships and create opportunities for all, including those from deprived communities across Scotland.
Hear from leading apprenticeships providers from across the country. Whether you are an SME or large employer, you will hear practical advice on how to navigate funding arrangements and maximise the potential of apprenticeships. You will hear directly from top apprentices on what works to attract and retain young talent. Understand how you can improve the experiences of apprenticeships, from inductions through to end-point-assessments.

Thematic Workshop: Employability and Community Wealth Building
Thursday 9 October | 14:00 - 15:00
The Community Wealth Building Bill was introduced in Scotland in March 2025. The bill aims to enhance local economies by ensuring that wealth is generated, retained and circulated within communities and will be a key part of Scotland's policy landscape going forward. Employability services sit at the core of the Workforce pillar of Community Wealth Building through supporting access to and progression through local labour markets, developing skills in local communities and promoting fair work. They also support and can be strengthened by the other four Community Wealth Building pillars: inclusive ownership, finance, land & property and spending.
Come along to this Thematic Workshop to learn more about this important forthcoming legislation and get inspired through examples of implementation as to how it can help employability in your area.
This session will include contributions from Scottish Government, CLES, the Improvement Service and local case studies.

Employability and Community Wealth Building
Thursday 9 October | 14:00 – 15:00
The Community Wealth Building Bill was introduced in Scotland in March 2025. The Bill aims to enhance local economies by ensuring that wealth is generated, retained and circulated within communities and will be a key part of Scotland’s policy landscape going forward.
This session will include contributions from Scottish Government, CLES , the Improvement Service and local case studies.
Book your place at this link: https://socialenterprise.scot/event/employability-and-community-wealth-building/

The forum thanked Gerry McKeown for all his support over the past years and wished him a wonderful retirement as he finishes towards the end of September. Finally, there was a reminder that Stirling Business Month and Forth Valley Business Week are both running in September; a quick search on both will highlight a number of events that may be of interest. Creative Scotland Fund – Now Open
Creative Communities Scotland
The Creative Communities Scotland fund will support grassroots community-led organisations across Scotland to develop and deliver projects that harness the power of creativity in supporting people and communities.
The fund is open to all hands-on, participatory art forms including dance, filmmaking, creative writing, music making, and storytelling. Organisations can apply for up to £35,000, for activities to be delivered between January and December 2026.
In line with the Scottish Government’s Culture Strategy, the fund is also focused on supporting communities who face barriers to engaging with creative activities because of social, economic, cultural, physical or other challenges.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 18th September 2025. Find out more here.
Changing Places Toilets Scotland Fund
In Scotland, over 25,000 people with complex needs and disabilities rely on Changing Places Toilets to have their personal care needs met. However, many communities still lack access to these essential facilities.
The Scottish Government has launched a £10 million fund to support the creation of up to 150 new Changing Places Toilets across Scotland, with a focus on areas where there are currently no, or very few, Changing Places Toilets.
Inspiring Scotland is delivering the fund on behalf of the Scottish Government, with expert support from PAMIS (Promoting A More Inclusive Society). A co-founder and Chair of the UK Changing Places Toilet Consortium, PAMIS has played a central role in the development of this fund, reflecting their long-standing commitment to improving accessibility for people with additional support needs across Scotland.
Organisations can apply for project costs, and up to £10,000 in development costs, associated with building a Changing Places Toilet.
The deadline for applications is Monday 20th October 2025. Find out more here.
Outdoor Community Play Incubator Programme
This fund supports small community groups in rural and remote areas to deliver free, child-led outdoor play that improves children’s health and wellbeing. Grants of up to £5,000 are available, which will be awarded alongside development support and capacity building.
“For over 15 years, we’ve championed outdoor play as a cornerstone of healthy childhoods and stronger families. Yet we know that many communities face barriers to creating safe outdoor play opportunities. This new incubator programme builds on our experience of working alongside organisations committed to improving health and wellbeing of children across Scotland and will help rural communities overcome challenges by offering funding, support and guidance to create lasting opportunities for play.” - Celia Tennant, Inspiring Scotland Chief Executive
We are now inviting expressions of interest for this programme, which will be open to applications from 1st September until 22nd September 2025. Find out more here.

Public Health Scotland – Survey for Employers
Employers invitation to complete a Public Health Scotland survey to help address workplace health actions - good population health is good for business.
Scotland is facing significant public health challenges. Life expectancy is declining and health inequalities are widening. An ageing working population combined with a rise in long-term health conditions is driving rising levels of economic inactivity due to ill health.
Work is a key building block of health and employers play a pivotal role. Providing work that is good for health is good business, benefitting individuals, employers, and the wider economy. A healthy economy depends on a healthy and diverse workforce.
In supporting the Scottish Governments, Programme for Government and to learn more about the role of employers in improving health outcomes, Public Health Scotland is undertaking a range of employer engagement activities in the coming months.
They would like your support in this endeavour and invite you to complete a short survey Here to help gain direct feedback on employer capability, opinions and challenges. Please also share this more widely across your networks. The survey is accompanied by a two-page online briefing, both of which can be accessed at https://www.healthyworkinglives.scot/employer-engagement-survey
The results from the survey will help inform discussions and the development of a Scottish Health and Work Action Plan, which is a formal commitment in the Scottish Population Health Framework published in June 2025.
Public Health Scotland’s engagements with employers will include 1-2-1 engagements, smaller group meetings and workshops. If you or your network would like to be more involved in these sessions, please contact Robert.atkinson@phs.scot

Barnardo's Scotland Welcome Service
Barnardo’s Scotland Welcome Service provides holistic and practical support to children and young people, and their families, from Ukraine. Our aim is to ensure that families have access to the support services they require to develop a sense of safety and belonging, social networks, and improved mental health and wellbeing.
As part of our service, we run weekly virtual Youth Network sessions that are fun and informative. We play games, learn about new topics, and create an opportunity to develop friendships.
We also host a weekly online Conversation Club for parents/carers. Informal discussions about a variety of topics provides the perfect opportunity to develop English skills in a supportive environment.
In the upcoming weeks we will be introducing a more formal series of ESOL lessons for children/young people and parents/carers. Tailored to support the goals of service users, these lessons will be offered both digitally and face to face (in some locations).
Further information about the service can be found on the attached poster. Alternatively, please contact scotlandwelcome@barnardos.org.uk.

Clackmannanshire Council and the National Trust for Scotland hosted the Employer Engagement Forum’s first meeting of 2025 at Alloa Tower. Our first meeting of each year is our annual networking meeting and we were delighted to welcome 50 attendees. All those in attendance remarked upon the fantastic venue, hospitality afforded to us and the wonderful tour of the tower by our NTS hosts and Clacks Council. We continue to thank everyone for their ongoing support and participation with the EEF.
We heard from Alison Fraser at National Trust for Scotland who welcomed everyone to the Tower and imparted our housekeeping instructions. Lindsey McNaughtan (KEIR CONSTRUCTION LIMITED) updated us regarding the Callander Primary School contract and encouraged all in attendance to liaise with her regarding community benefits related activity, donation or support.
Lawrence Durden updated the forum on current hospitality and tourism sector trends. He will supply the slides for the EEF to share with membership. Tina Coviello introduced us to Green Skills Training Limited; a company that she has set up with Stephen Cornwallis based at Dumyat Business Park. After delivering green skills programmes recently through employability funding, they identified a gap which they hope to address through the delivery of tailored training solutions to public and private partners (presentation is included on the EEF wesbite).
Rebecca McFarlane introduced the EEF to the Futures Institute Project – based within Dollar Academy. FIDA’s focus is helping young people to develop communication, team work and problem-solving skills; with a particular focus on sustainability and Scotland's journey towards net zero.
Ruth White spoke about Scottish Land & Estates and the Pathways To Rural Work project being delivered in partnership with Forth Valley College & Sandra Clements (Hawkhill Community Centre). Ruth is keen to make links with organisations to encourage further ways of linking young people with rural learning and jobs across Forth Valley.
After the agenda and alongside the tour; members were able to network and discuss their organisations. Something we usually struggle to find the time to do at most of the agendas throughout the rest of the year! The next meeting will be the start of June. Time, venue and date to be confirmed. Thanks again to Alison Davidson, Paul Morris, Madeleine Muirhead and Neil Ramsay.

Community Spaces Grants Now Open
Community Spaces aims to support local communities experiencing poverty and trauma in Scotland and is for registered charities with an annual income of between £30,000 and £500,000. Applicants can apply at any time and there is no set closing date for applications.
With our guidance now available, the fund will provide revenue funding of between £5,000 and £20,000 per year, for up to 3 years, to support the costs of community centres, hubs and anchor organisations that are delivering and/or hosting a range of services and activities to meet the needs of their community. Applicants should show how the various services they deliver and/or host relate to preventing or reducing poverty and trauma for local people.
By community, we mean a geographic community. This could be in an urban or rural area experiencing high rates of poverty and trauma.
We are particularly interested in supporting applications from organisations that can show how they reach out to and remove barriers for groups of people in their community who are at higher risk of experiencing poverty and trauma, such as disabled people, people experiencing racial inequity and asylum seekers and refugees, to ensure that they know about and can access the services and activities on offer.
The opening of our Community Spaces Grants marks the end of our phased return to Our Funds, following our pause last year. We will continue to embed cycles of learning and continuous improvement across our work, including how we consider applications to our Nurturing Relationships funding theme, which we will review after communicating decisions on applications made to our Open Call, which closed last month. We will always aim to do so in a way which is fair and transparent, in keeping with the IVAR Open and Trusting principles for flexible funding.
Each of our funds are designed to be clear, transparent, and accessible to meet the needs of potential applicants. We’ve worked hard behind the scenes to provide concise information on who and what we will fund under our Our Funds, however, if you have any feedback on this, we’d welcome the chance to talk to you about it.
We encourage all applicants to read through our guidance documents in the first instance before completing our application form, as this will increase the likelihood of a successful funding outcome.
We understand however that you may still have questions that cannot be answered by our guidance, and we accept enquiries by email to funding@therobertsontrust.org.uk or you can call us on 0141 353 4321. We are a small team but try to respond to enquiries as soon as possible.
UK Poverty 2025 Report
The UK Poverty 2025 report provides in-depth analysis of poverty levels in the UK, covering trends in child poverty, working-age poverty, pensioner poverty, and the effects of economic, social and policy factors.
Much of the data on which the UK Poverty 2025 report is based ends prior to the 2024 General Election. The report highlights the unique challenges that Scotland faces, as well as the impact and opportunities presented by the nation’s differing policy landscape.
Key findings include:
• Rising poverty rates: 14.3 million people in the UK (21%) are living in poverty, including 4.3 million children, 8.1 million working-age adults, and 1.9 million pensioners.
o In Scotland, 1 in 5 people (21%) were in poverty between 2021/22 and 2022/23, higher than the 18-19% average seen through the 2010s.
o Child poverty rates in Scotland (24%) are lower than England and Wales, however many areas have higher than average child poverty rates including Glasgow constituencies with rates at or exceeding 33%.
• Declining life expectancy in deprived areas: In Scotland, male life expectancy in the most deprived areas fell by 12 months, and female life expectancy fell by 17 months between 2013-15 to 2021-23.
o Both men and women in the most deprived areas of Scotland are expected to have 26 fewer years in good health than their counterparts in the least deprived areas.
• Work and income disparities: 68% of working-age adults in poverty live in a household where at least one person works.
o The share of working-age adults in work in Scotland was lower than the UK average, and households with someone in work took home a lower level of earnings than the UK average.
• Barriers to accessing healthcare: People from the most deprived areas have a higher likelihood of waiting long periods for non-urgent care, as well as higher rates of emergency admissions.
• Impact of social security policies: 48% of Universal Credit claimants remain in poverty, highlighting the insufficiency of benefits in lifting people out of hardship. The Scottish Child Payment has helped reduce child poverty in Scotland, but the full effects are not yet reflected in official data.

Durieshill & South Stirling Gateway Announcements
A combined total of over 4,100 new homes are expected to be built on the sites situated between Bannockburn, Plean and the Pirnhall M9 junction after developers were given approval to proceed with the Durieshill project last August with South Stirling Gateway being approved in October.
It is estimated that the level of housebuilding at Durieshill will produce around 600 primary school pupils by the time that the development is fully completed. Likewise, an estimated 300 pupils are expected to be residing in South Stirling Gateway when construction is finished.
At a recent meeting of the Children and Young People Committee (26 September) it was agreed to establish the primary schools and catchment areas to serve the new communities following public consultations on the proposals.
'Emerging communities'
Children and Young People Convener, Cllr Danny Gibson said: “The population of Stirling will increase as families move into the homes created in Durieshill and South Stirling Gateway. The initial creation of two new primary schools and catchment areas will serve these emerging communities as building and construction work progresses over the coming years.
“As Stirling continues to grow and flourish, this decision underlines our commitment to provide infrastructure for children’s learning and development and develop new thriving and sustainable communities.”
Following the confirmed decision of the Committee, an initial seven classroom school will be built in South Stirling Gateway, expected to be required by the 2026/27 academic term, followed by a 4 classroom extension in 2033/34 depending on roll projection estimates.
Durieshill’s new primary school will initially comprise of 10 classrooms, also with an ability to extend by another 4 classrooms if required. An additional primary school will be delivered at Durieshill in a later phase of work.
Children from both South Stirling Gateway and Durieshill will be accommodated at Bannockburn Primary School until construction of the primary schools are complete. Initially, both primary schools will feed into Bannockburn High School when completed.

The Wellbeing for Wee Ones Campaign looks to reassure parents that the natural interactions they already have with their babies are having a huge impact on their emotional and social wellbeing, both now and in the future. The campaign also shows that interacting with babies from the moment they’re born is important for their child’s brain development.
This campaign was developed in consultation with key stakeholders and parents to make sure messaging was as widely accessible as possible. The strategy and creative highlight the importance for parents to interact with their infant in a way that promotes their infant’s wellbeing (mental health) and demonstrates simple, effective behaviours that parents can adopt as part of their everyday life.
There is information and tips for parents on the Parent Club Website, along with more on the ‘science’ behind it: Wellbeing for Wee Ones - Parent Club Website
The Scottish Government has a plan for a new law they think will make life better for people with learning disabilities, this will be called the Learning Disabilities, Autism and Neurodivergence Bill. We will call this the LDAN Bill for short.
SCLD believes that the Bill could make a big difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities in Scotland. Before they write the Bill, the Scottish Government wants to hear what people with learning disabilities think about their ideas for the Bill. This is called a consultation.
It is important that as many people with learning disabilities, family carers and organisations respond to the consultation.
Your response counts! #HaveYourSayLDAN

The hub is aimed at those working in local authorities, the NHS, HSCPs and the third sector, and anyone interested in reducing child poverty in Scotland. The hub is pitched at foundation level. The hub will support understanding about child poverty. It also identifies some key actions that staff, particularly those in local authorities and NHS Boards might take to support families living on a low income.
The hub is comprised of five relatively short modules that could be worked through alone or in a team and learners can dip in and out of the hub dependent on their learning needs. The hub is free and can be accessed through the PHS Virtual Learning Environment. We would be grateful if you could cascade news of the hub to any relevant colleagues and partners.
If you require any further support or information, please contact phs.wdteam@phs.scot.
